Name/Title

1800s Farmhouse and Barn

Description

Our village farmhouse was originally built in the late 1800s and was located across the street from the museum's current location. The house and neighboring convenient store was owned by the Lilly family. Technically, the house still sits on the same soil as its former locale as the sediment from below the house was also transferred to the museum property in order to level the ground. The homestead is now referred to as the "Harrington House" as it is primarily furnished with furniture and decorative items donated from Mildred Harrington's family home. The farmhouse interior is now decorated as an early 1900's house, complete with kitchen, living room, sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom. In the barn, discover tools used on a family farm, a working barn frame loom, and spinning wheels.
