Description

Pair of black leather women's lace-up ankle boots with stacked Cuban heels, rounded cap toes, and metal eyelets. The boots feature leather laces, stitched leather uppers, and leather soles exhibiting moderate wear consistent with age and use, including creasing, scuffing, and surface abrasions. According to the donor, the boots belonged to Josefa Chipita Osuna (née Crosthwaite, 1856–1908), wife of Julio Osuna, and descended through the Osuna family before their donation to the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society in 2026. The boots retain significant historical association with one of Rancho Santa Fe's early Californio families.
