Description
Black and white staged publicity photograph showing the Osuna No. 2 adobe house partially obscured by the large branches and hanging foliage of a pepper tree. The building later served as headquarters for the Santa Fe Railway during the early development of Rancho Santa Fe. In the foreground, an early automobile is parked along the road with architect Lilian Rice seated on the front bumper. Two unidentified individuals in 1920s attire stand nearby as part of the staged scene, and another automobile is visible farther down the road. The large pepper tree dominates the composition, with branches extending across the foreground and partially covering the building. Handwritten text on the reverse reads “Old Osuna house under Pepper Tree.”
