Description

A USMC MP directs the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department fire engines after a jet crash of an A4F Skyhawk at 10:15am on November 30th, 1989. The smoke visible in the background of photo is of the crash. The jet crash insited a fire that consumed more than 40 acres of brush in the US Navy's Buffer Zone just east of Interstate 15. The pilot was Lt. Comander Stanley O'Connor, 37 y/o who had been with the Navy for the past 15 years.
