Name/Title
Roadwork outside the Joers-Ketchum Building, circa 1926-1927Entry/Object ID
2026.010.053Description
Photograph showing the Joers-Ketchum Building at the northwest corner of La Granada and Paseo Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe during roadwork. Construction machinery, a pile of gravel, and a “ROAD CLOSED” barricade occupy the foreground in front of the Lilian Rice-designed two-story commercial building. The Joers-Ketchum Building was the first two-story building in the village and originally housed a tearoom. Item information associates the photograph with Bunnell Photo Lab and a date of November 22, 1927; the photograph is dated circa 1926-November 22, 1927 because it is uncertain whether the Bunnell date represents the original exposure date.Photograph Details
