Photograph showing a Studebaker dealership and open-air automobile showroom in Rancho Santa Fe owned by Robert C. Francisco, with an unidentified man standing beside a Studebaker automobile and additional vehicles on display. A banner in the background commemorates Studebaker’s 100th anniversary. A handwritten note on the back states that the open-air showroom created considerable interest and received publicity throughout San Diego County, that automobiles remained on display 24 hours a day without damage or theft, and that the business began with Studebaker-Packard and later Mercedes. The note states that the site was later occupied by the Christian Science Reading Room. The back also bears stamps from The San Dieguito Citizen, Solana Beach, California.Photograph Details
