Postcard showing the exterior of the La Valencia Apartments at the corner of Paseo Delicias and La Granada in Rancho Santa Fe. The two-story Monterey-style building was designed by Lilian Rice and completed in 1928. Originally mixed-use, the building contained offices on the first floor and rental apartments above, and Rice maintained an office in the building. Stucco walls, tiled roofs, arched openings, upper-level balconies, landscaping, and mature eucalyptus trees are visible. Printed text on the front reads “La Valenciana Apartments Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.” The back includes a handwritten note that identifies the building as a former residence of Lilian Rice.Subject
