Terracotta, Terracotta VotivesDescription
This small terracotta statuette depicts a standing, heavily draped female figure. She is wrapped in a thick, continuous mantle (himation) draped over her head, forming a rounded, dome-like veil that tapers down over her shoulders. The drapery folds cross diagonally over her upper torso and sweep smoothly downward, concealing fine anatomical contours while establishing a sleek, columnar profile.
Composed of a buff-to-reddish earthenware clay matrix, the figurine demonstrates soft, worn details characteristic of a well-used single-front press mold. The base appears integrated into the lower hem of the garment, designed to stand upright or be placed as a devotional offering.Collection
