Terracotta, Terracotta VotivesDescription
This small terracotta statuette depicts a standing, heavily draped female figure. She wears a thick, enveloping mantle (himation) draped over her head like a cowl or veil, framing her facial features. Her right arm is folded tightly across her torso beneath the drapery, creating a pronounced diagonal fold across the midsection.
Composed of a dark brownish-red clay matrix, the figure is solid or heavy mold-made, featuring soft, worn contours typical of a well-used single-front press mold. The base appears rounded and integrated into the overall mantle, tapering upward to a smooth, finished headpiece.Collection
