TerracottaDescription
This molded terracotta architectural or votive fragment features a relief decoration of stylized foliage. Prominent, smooth concentric curved moldings arc across the main surface, framing a leaf-like register or scroll motif along the right side.
Composed of a pale buff-to-tan earthenware clay matrix, the piece retains rare, visible traces of ancient blue pigment (Egyptian blue or similar mineral pigment) preserved within the recessed channels and around the relief details. The irregular fracture lines along the lower, upper, and left perimeters indicate it broke away from a larger architectural plaque, revetment tile, or decorative relief panel.Collection
