The binding on the spine is black tape (not original) and looking inside is made up of other papers to reinforce it. Inside the cover is handwritten "John Weidner Buffalo Grove, Lake Co., Ills".
The cover page inside has a drawing of God over the Earth, and title information with the date of 1842. It is difficult to make out some of the publishing information, as this is in old German. There are a few multicolored religious cards inside the book.
