There are five rows on children and the teacher is in the center back row. In the front row are 8 children seated on steps. Behind them are 9 children standing. Behind them are 7 children standing. Behind them are 5 children, and situated in the back are 4 more children. The boys are wearing stockings, shorts, and different tops with scarves. The girls are wearing different dresses. Behind them the doors of the school are open, and there are brooms resting on the right on the school wall. Under the photo is handwritten: "ARL HTS GRADE SCHOOL 1st room". The photo is attached to a brown mat board.
