Scope and Content

One (1) Firnbach and Raupp store receipt from June 27, 1919. Receipt is rectangular with black printed text and written notes in pencil. The receipt is for Ed Barbaras (?), who brought 4-1/2 doz. eggs at $0.38 for $1.71. In addition, he bought one # (pound) of coffee for $0.40, one " (continuation of pound) of cookies for $0.28, one cornflakes for $0.12, one bx (box) of mustard for $0.10, one " (continuation of box) of matches for $0.07, one ivory soap for $0.12, one corn for $0.18, one pork + beans for $0.20, and one Dutch cleaner (Old Dutch Cleaner) for $0.10. The bill total is $1.57. The creditor total ($1.71) is subtracted by the debtor bill total ($1.57). The final credit given is $0.14. The black text is as follows, Bought of Firnbach and Raupp; Dealers in; General Merchandise; Creditor; By, doz. eggs; By, lbs butter; Debtor Receipt has "Pd" written in the Creditor section. There is math of the adding of the prices at the bottom of the receipt.
