Scope and Content

Two pages of a correspondence on American YMCA letterhead with envelope. Red and blue YMCA logo in upper left corner with “On active Service with the American Expeditionary Force” across the center of the paper. Dated May 8th 1919. Lined paper with note at the bottom: "to the writer: save by writing on the sides of this paper; to the folks at home: save food, buy liberty bonds and war saving stamps." Handwritten letter in black ink about camp being like Camp Logan and the possibility of seeing each other in the month after he landed in the States. Envelope addressed to "Miss Josephine Raupp Arlington Heights, IL USA" from "Bernard Raupp US Army ACO." American YMCA soldier's mail logo. With purple "AEF passed as censored" stamp and black "Army Post Office 745" stamp.
