Scope and Content

Softcover Girl Scout Diary with green paper boards and staple binding. Front cover has illustration of two uniformed girls: one pointing to a map of the United States, the other holding a paper. "Girl Scout Diary" printed across the upper center area of the front cover with "1934" in the left of center area and "Glimpse of the United States" across the lower center edge. Book contains various Girl Scout rules, explanations of rank, skills and daily calendar for 1934. Printed on tan paper with black text and illustrations. 192 pages. Laid in green paper membership card with text on both sides and blue ink writing on it for Betty Reckner, member of troop 7 in Evansville Indiana. Her membership expired Nov. 1934. The other side indicated her rank status and her Captain's name: "Marie B. Kirk."
