Scope and Content

One (1) beige, black and white postcard. On the front is a black and white photo of a women with a large hat and fitted dress with geometric designs on the front. She is facing the side with her head turned over her left shoulder towards the camera. Under the photo is printed: "Marie Cahill. Copyrighted. Strauss-Peyton 1911". On the back is printed: "Postcard, This side may be used for correspondence, This side for address only. Pub by Karus Mfg. Co., N.Y.-K. 1065". In the correspondence section is printed: "Maris Cahill, Americas Leading comedienne, will be seen here in her new European musical comedy success, "The Opera Ball," which has been adapted from the German by Sydney Rosenfield. The original version is by those clever libretists Victor Leon and H. von Waldberg. The score used by Miss Cahill will be the original of Richard Heuberger. A feature of the play will be the augmented orchestra under the direction of Josian Zuro, late conductor at Hammerstein's Manhattan Opera House, New York." Printed in red to the right of this paragraph is "Garrick Theatre, 2 weeks, beginning Jan. 14".
