Scope and Content

One (1) Firnbach and Raupp store receipt from January 27, 1920. Receipt is rectangular with red printed text and handwritten notes in pencil. The receipt is for William Balling who bought one pound of crackers for $0.20, one pound of rice for $0.18, one pound of coffee for $0.45, one pound of tapioca for $0.30, four soap for $0.28, two more soap for $0.18, and one yeast foam for $0.18. The bill for January 27, 1920 is totaled to $1.64, on the receipt Balling also pays for a bill from January 20, 1920 bringing the total he owes the store to $4.04. On the eleventh line there is a red stamped 34 and beneath the bill is marked as paid. The red text is as follows, from top to bottom: "Bought of Firnbach and Raupp dealers in GENERAL MERCHANDISE" Buffalo Grove Ill.; Sold to; address; if there are any Errors in this Bill Return it at once; MC CASKEY ALLIANCE O."
