Red Wing Art Association Presents Art Weeks 1966 Sunday, September 25 thru Sunday, October 9, 1966 (Clip and Use This Calendar) Sunday, September 25 OUTDOOR ART FESTIVAL - LEEVEE PARK Art demonstrations, Villa Maria students exhibits, do it yourself painting. Special music on top of Nellie Bly houseboat. 1:00 to 5:00pm. Monday, September 26 VIEW THE WINDOW DISPLAYS In downtown stores. Tuesday, September 27 VIEW WINDOW DISPLAYS Wednesday, September 28 TOUR OF RED WING HOMES & HOUSEBOATS The homes of George Bergwall, Everett M. Lantz, Arlo Jensen, O.H. Norgaard, Roy Meyer and Milton I. Hoist. The houseboats of A.F. Vogel, E.M. Lantz and L.W. Chamberlain. 2:00 to 3:30 pm for the homes and 2:00 to 7:00 pm for the houseboats. $1.00 per person. Thursday, September 29 FRANCES DENSMORE DAY Dr. Melva Lind of Gustavus Adolphus College will speak at the Kiwanis Club at Noon, to the Art classes at Red Wing High school in the afternoon and in the evening Dr. Lind will speak at the Sunnyside school auditorium at 8:00 o'clock which is open to the public. Dr. Lind will speak of the research work of the late Miss Densmore; Indian music and what she did for the Indians. No charge. Friday, September 20 MY FAVORITE THINGS SHOW VFW Hall - 1:00 to 9:00pm Collection of dolls, guns (some date back to 1610), iron banks, wood carvings, pitchers, items from Ghana, Africa, items from Turkey, candies, Madonnas, glassware, George Enz antiques, restored and custom designed and built originals, and many others. 25 cents entry fee. Saturday, October 1 VIEW WINDOW DISPLAYS AND PUBLIC LIBRARY DISPLAY Friday, Sept. 30 thru Sunday, Oct. 9 Tuesday, October 4 1:00 PM - BENEFIT BRIDGE LUNCHEON Red Wing Country club. Door prize, water color. $2.00 per person. $1.25 for luncheon, 75 cents benefit Art Workshop. RED WING MADRIGAL SINGERS CONCERT Christ Church parish house, 8pm. Tickets - 50 cents adults, 25 cents children, children under 12 free. Wednesday, October 5 RITTER SLIDES Put out by St. Paul Dispatch and Pioneer Press. Two stereo slides -- 1. "American Homes in Gardens." 2. "Painting and Works of Artist George Bellows." YMCA Community Room, 8:00pm. Thursday, October 6 ART TOUR - 9:30am to 3:30pm. Small fee. Friday, October 7 VIEW WINDOW DISPLAYS AND VISIT PUBLIC LIBRARY EXHIBIT Saturday, October 8 CHILDREN'S PLAY - By Moppett Players of Minneapolis. Title of play: "The ABC's." Auditorium Theater. 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Tickets, 25 cents for children and 50 cents for adults. Sunday, October 9 NATURE AS DESIGNER DISPLAY BOOTH AT COLVILL PARK Music -- Choral group. FREE EXHIBITS Red Wing Art Workshop paintings, water colors, drawings, Villa Maria Academy and Red Wing school students art work. Indian artifacts in downtown store windows both weeks. Camera Club exhibit of outstanding pictures taken by Camera Club members together with an usual exhibit of historic pictures of Red Wing Downtown store windows.
