Description

End of Main Street, Reedville including Reed-Taylor fish factory with fishing steamers Hannah Lennen, Alden S. Swann shot from the former merchant ship 'Caponka' (was a WWI wooden Liberty ship). Also in view Palmer and Moore Buick dealership at right, Reed and Rice store in background, and Dey Building. The Caponka is aground as it was sinking and the only way to save her was to move her away from the wharf and let her settle in the shallows. The objective was to remove her engine for use in the Louise, which was accomplished. The Reedville children took great delight in rowing out to the ship and playing aboard her.
