Old Oak Table that came off an old menhaden fish boat (F/V Swan) of The McNeal-Edwards Company, Inc. and was on the rear porch of the William Tankard Covington house, in Reedville, for approx. 40 years. A. McNeal Covington, a son of William Tankard Covington, inherited same and his widow, Virginia Haywood Covington, gave table.
Oak table with 3-plank top; planked column-shaped sides; feet have nail holes where bolts were used to fasten to the floor. Nicks, scrapes and holes indicate extensive use. Traces of green paint remain on sides of table and underneath the top (in 1988, most of the paint was removed prior to giving to the Museum).
