Description

Reedville original Sept1892 photo taken looking north. On the left one sees the home of CAPT Morris, partly obscured by trees. The wooden framed house on the right occupies the location where CAPT Fisher built his home, "The Gables", a glorious Gothic pile of bricks and gables. This photograph was used by Miriam Haynie as the inspiration for her oil on canvas painting entitled "Early Reedville", or "Reedville Looking North", which was created in 1979.
