The "J. A. Palmer Jr.," built in 1911 in Wilmington, DE, by Jackson and Sharpe for C.E. Davis Packing Co (later McNeal Edwards & Co); named for John Armistead Palmer, general manager of C.E. Davis, who was an innovator in the fishing industry, and experimented with refrigerating fish, and radio and airplane fishing.
Purchsed by the Navy and assigned to Coast Guard and name changed to "Pequot;" finally sold to a Central American firm and later foundered on the rocks off Costa RicoCollection
