The "Weems" was built in 1943 in North Bend, Oregon for the US Navy (MSCO 48), and used fosr inshore mine sweeping and patrol; served at Ilinawa at end of war; later sold to a religious order from Ohio to be outfitted as an Outward Bound school ship.
Last heard from in 1992 when it was going from poprt to port in the Chesapeake, looking for a pier to use as home base.Collection
