The "Wilbert A. Edwards" was built ini 1912 in Solomons, MD for the Edwards Co., Reedville, VA. She was acquired by the US Navy (SP 315) for patrol duty in the Azores. She suffered mechanical problems, had to be towed back to Boston, and spend most of the remaining was years in repair.
Sold to owner in 1919, the acquired by the Coast Guard in WWII (WYP 357), and assigned to Caribbean.
Returned to fishing in 1944, abandoned in a marsh on Wicomico River near White Haven, MD, in 1970Collection
