Overshot coverlet, woven with indigo wool and natural cotton. Coverlet is 66 inches in width. Two 33 inches wide pieces were sewn together for a 66 inch wide coverlet. Likely woven at home on a simple four shaft loom. The earliest coverlets were were woven using an overshot weave.Context
