Description

Green marching uniform jacket with gold ornamentation and buttons. Beige pants with a gold stripe running down the leg. It is made of some sort of synthetic material. The patch on the right shoulder says "Drum and Bugle Corps; Ripon" The uniform includes a jacket and a pair of pants Uniform used by Independent Order of Odd Fellows Drum & Bugle Corps., 1950s.

Context

In 1950, the Ripon Odd Fellows Drum and Bugle Corps started from scratch with $500 loaned to them from an Odd Fellow member. The band purchased secondhand instruments but purchased new uniforms with bright green jackets and beige pants. The director of the band was Don Prellwitz. The Corps played at several celebrations in Ripon and the surrounding area.
