Description

Civil War Bugle which Margaret Ruhoff says "was carried in the Civil War by my great uncle, Grandmother Chittenden's brother. He was living in Ohio." Dated 1861 - 1865. Tarnished, many dents. Includes attached very worn braided carrying cord with 2 ornate cord-covered wooden end pieces. Note : Margaret Ruhoff has written on the accession record : "My grandmother's maiden name was McMillenlen (?). That's all I know about her brother, except he was just a boy." Stored in Treasure Cabinet--Archives.
