Description

39 1/2" w x 29 1/2" h WWI poster mounted on heavy cardboard. In color picture of 3 ships in action at sea. At least one is a Naval destroyer. Printed in the picture is "They kept the sea lanes open." The black ship is a German submarine, surrendering. The third ship possibly an Am-passenger ship. Below the picture is printed "Invest in the Victory Liberty Loan". Painting is by L. A. Shafer. Not dated but it is a WWI poster probably 1918 or 1919. Slightly soiled but intact.
