Description

21" x 14" paper World War 1 poster, yellowed probably white with black printing. Red cross and pink face on head of Red Cross woman worker. Informational printing on the work of more than 8 million women making dressings, knitted articles, refugee garments, hospital garments and supplies for the WWI efforts by civilians in the U.S. The information covers the period from April 1917 to August 31, 1918. It is Bulletin No. 9 issued by the War Council of the American Red Cross. To be posted "in a conspicuous place" by order of the Postmaster General. Intact and legible except for 3 torn off pieces of top edge apparently from posting.
