Quilt cover c. 6'6" x 6'6", with hemmed edge. Embroidered in colors on natural muslin squares. Appears to have been made by several sewers with different stitches. The dates 1896 and 1898 are in two separate squares and the names "Auntie" Werner, Sara Rose Werner, Mrs. Werner and Ida Kuehn in other squares. Relation of these persons to the donor, Mayvin Witt, and no history of or date of the cover is known. Slightly discolored with age but intact fabric and embroidery. Mayvin Witt was born in 1909, never married, and died in Ripon in 1990.Collection
