Raku style pot thrown by Eugene Kain. Pot features greens and grays with vertical designs around the upper portion of the pot. Approximately 6"x7".Context
Kain taught in the art department at Ripon College for 27 years, retiring in 2010. During his time at the college, he was also the gallery director, curating over 100 exhibitions.
Kain is a professional multimedia artist who taught himself bronzeworking while living in Austria for a decade. He got his MFA degree at Syracuse University. Many of the pieces that Kain creates reminisce about his time as a child. He and his mother fled Moscow to Eastern Europe and lived as refugees for over five years.Then they emigrated to the United States. His pieces arr both organic and geometric.
Kain's works have been shown in many Wisconsin venues, including the Milwaukee Art Museum, K Center, and Ripon College. His art has also been
in New York, Vienna and other Austrian cities, and Portland, ME.
