Mrs. Ella B. Kingsbury operated a music store in Ripon for over 40 years, retiring in 1933. The store was located on 108 W. Jackson St. in 1901 and 104 Jackson St. in 1915 to 1916.
In a February 23, 1900, edition of the Ripon Commonwealth newspaper, it is announced that Mr. George Kingsbury will be opening a music store, called the “Kingsbury Music Co.,” previously occupied by F.C. Doherty and one door west of A.E. Bishop’s grocery. It is also reported that the store sells sheet music, pianos, mandolins, and guitars.
