Black & white 6 x 8 photograph of Julius Buchholz store, 301 Watson. 1904-1913. Note attached to back of photograph says: This is the front view of the Julius Buchholz Grocery Store which stood where the Ripon State Bank now stands. The picture was taken sometime between 1904 and 1913.
The man holding the horse is Gus Buchholz, son of the proprietor, who lived in Ripon until his death in early 1972. The man standing in front of the north window of the store is Arthur Bruchmann. The Bruchmanns lived on the second floor of this corner building where they operated a tailor shop. The stairway at the right led to the Bruchmann shop and living quarters. The man at the right is Julius Buchholz. Note, Watermelons - 25 cents. Author of note not known.
Other window sign says: Fine-eating Pears. Next to Julius Buchholz is a contraption named The Boss on Wheels.Acquisition
