Back says: Pynch Grocery near Campus Theatre (modern). Early grocers in Ripon shown here in late 1880s where Senior Citizen's Center is today. Louis Pynch later started Ripon Produce Co. which employed Horace Bumby, early president of Speed Queen and founder of Ripon Foods. Brother Jim Pynch became partner in DuVall's Grocery, located then near Campus Theatre.
2017 Note: Not indicated where Sr. Citizen's Center was at time of undated note. Pynch address listed as 111 Main (Watson) in 1893 City Directory. Artifact ladle advertising Pynch Bros. has address in 300 block Watson. Unclear which address is correct for photograph.Acquisition
