Description

7 3/4" x 10 3/4" photograph of "Boy Scout Fife, Drum and Bugle Corps - 1917." Includes separate label with above title plus "Father Story-Scout Master- Edgar Zobel - Corps organizer and director.: and bael "framed by F.C. Butzin - Name: Harold Banville - Price $.75." Both labels originally attached to photo with transparent disintegrated tape. Paper on back of frame yellowed and cracking. Photo shows C, 29 members in formation with instruments at camp site. Members and location not identified. Father Story was the minister at St. Peters church at the time, Zobel was the brother of the donor and Harold Banville, who had the picture framed was possibly one of the Corps. He was b. in 1902 and organized the first regular Boy Scout Troop in Ripon in 1923. Black and white picture clear, no evidence of fading or tears. Stored with collection of Boy and Girls Scouts artifacts in artifact store room.
