Card, Trade. (3) 3 1/2" x 6 1/8 " Order cards, tan in color with black print used as order form by "The Ripon Fruit Growers Association". Fruits listed are cases of strawberries, black raspberry, cherries, gooseberries, currants, blackberries and red raspberry. Cards show soil and each has veterinary medical notes on the back in ink or pencil as they were found among possessions of Dr. W.F. Schweisow, Veterinarian of Ripon who practiced in Ripon from c. 1900-1945. Card has a printed date of 1900 with space to its left for the month and the day. The 1893 Directory of the City of Ripon listed the "Association" with the address at 118 Fond du Lac St. and its officers - A. S. Crooker, Pres. Mrs L.K. Hood, Vice President. L.G. Kellog Secretary and A. Bucholz Treas. The Pedrick Genealogy says A.S. Crooker b. 1847 in Vermont came to Ripon c. 1870. After several employments he bought and operated a dairy farm. Mrs L.K. Hood is listed in the 1893 Directory as a "fruit grower" at 616 Main (Watson) St. The Pedrick Genealogy has more information on her. Nothing further is known about the "Association".
