Description

This St. Patrick’s Church key once belonged to Frederick Prellwitz (1884-1946), of Ripon. Frederick worked at Ripon Knitting Works as an engineer for 40 years. He and his wife, Catherine (Dorsch) Prellwitz, were members of St. Patrick’s. He was also a member of the Altar Society. This may explain why Frederick was in possession of the key, as members of the Altar Society would have needed entry to assist with various church functions, such as events, repairs, and maintenance. The key was passed down to Fredrick’s son Harry Prellwitz and then to Jerry Prellwitz (donor). Made of brass.
