Small white and pink pitcher with hand-painted picture and printing, "Birthplace of the Republican Party, Ripon, Wis." Pitcher is 3"x2". The bottom has a hand painted stamp in gold and over that is a stamp "Imported for John Boettcher, Ripon, Wis." Probably from variety store which, according to his necrology, he owned and ran from about 1918-1931. Store name not known, but John Boettcher lived at 613 Newbury St. He was born in 1878 in Town of Utica, Winnebago County on a farm and moved to Ripon with family when he was 15 years old. He helped his father run the Ripon Hotel and ran it by himself up until 1918. He was past president of Chamber of Commerce and also a volunteer fireman. See Pedric Necrology 1940, page 14.Collection
