Leather pouch, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2," with 2 belt loops on back side and flap closure with "US" stamped on it, and tab at end with slit which would have closed pouch over a button on the bottom. The leather is soiled, worn, and misshapen but intact. There are 16 cartridges inside. Found with other Civil War artifacts belonging to Walter O. Hargrave of Ripon who was a sergeant major with Co. M, 1st Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Calvary in the Civil War.Context
