Description

Partial stereograph of west side of Public Square between 1870 and 1880. Back notes business names - Keyes Lindsey (grocery), replaced by Masonic Block. Notice building material in street. Dr Jirah Rogers, O.J. Wolcott (watches and jewelry). First National Bank. Three story building housed Olmstad & Miner (dry goods), Bowen & Hamilton (shoes), Clark Hardware. Wilson & Co. (books). Front identifies buildings and businesses left to right. Keyes Lindsay Grocery, Two smallest buildings - Dr. Jirah Rogers and O.J. Wolcott Watches and Jewelry. To be replaced by Masonic Block. Notice the building material in the street for that project. First National Bank. Three story building housed Olmstand & Miner, Combs & Co., Paddock (saddles & harnesses). F.W. Lutke (saloon). The entire block burned in 1882. Something written on back was covered by description paper. No photographer identified.
