Laura Palhas grew up in Ripon and has BFA degrees in painting and art education. In 2019 she returned to the community after teaching art in the Madison area for ten years. She describes herself as a fourth generation artist, painter, teacher, and mom. Palhas notes that art has always been central in her life. She states, "I make art because I simply have to. My soul is out of sorts if I don't."
