Notecard, Matted Greetings: Plant A Tree 350-18Description
A Matted Greeting with a four-color silkscreen print on red linen depicting an espaliered tree against a brick garden wall. A birdhouse and three birds top the center branch. The the base of the composition is a paraphrasing of a maxim from Poor Richard’s Almanac, “He who plants a tree loves others besides himself.” The print is framed in a tan cardstock mat backed with single-ply cardboard.
This Matted Greeting appears in the Spring 1958 Country Prints price list as part of a new product line. Seventeen 7” x 9” matted prints were initially produced and included envelopes for mailing or gift giving. They were also available framed in black or natural frames.
This example is a sales sample used at trade shows and/or Country Prints’ in-house retail shop.Made/Created
