Name/Title

Tile: Good Morning T-49

Description

A two-color silkscreen underglaze print on a round white tile blank depicting a calico-patterned rooster weathervane with a sunburst finial topping the shaft above its back. The words “GOOD MORNING” border the perimeter of the tile. This tile design appears in the brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, c.1960. However, this example is printed on the thinner tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio from c.1962 onward. A variant of this design with “Good Morning” removed was used as an insert in turned wood cheese and cracker servers. A matching set of placemats and napkins were also produced; see images.
