Description

A one-color silkscreen overglaze print on a glazed white tile blank depicting reprints from Godey’s Lady’s Book, an influential women's service magazine of the late 19th century. This tile was designed to match the interior graphics of two Country Prints “Country Store” gift boxes from the early 1960’s; see images. It is likely that a matching towel/wallhanging was also produced, but has not been documented.

This design is printed on the thinner tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio from 1962 onward. Design, screen production, and mixing of colored overglazes performed at the Country Prints workshop, Gill, MA. Screen printing of overglaze colors, firing and finishing by Ceramo Studio, NYC.
