A wallhanging with a six-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting a images of the story of Jesus’ birth. Item includes original Country Prints packaging; see images.
At top, an angel surrounded by teal colored stars holds a hand over a shepherd’s head while pointing downward toward the holy family. Between the shepherd and his sheep is a tree of life. Below the angel appears the word GLORIA. At the base of the design, Mary, Joseph and a magi look upon the baby Jesus sitting upright in a hay-filled manger, which has crossed legs and a heart cutout in it’s face.
This wallhanging is listed on the Christmas 1960 Country Prints price list. Each wallhanging included a “gay handprint envelope-mailer.”
Edges are cut and fringed. Cross bar and hanging tape are glued to the front face of the linen.Made/Created
