Print: Village 1330-6Description
A silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting a densely constructed early American village with multiple types of housing, churches and municipal buildings presented in elevation. Above the buildings, fruiting trees are sculpted into overscaled topiaries. Two suns and a moon and stars imply the passage of time from day to night to day again. The composition is finished with a printed border. It is a pair with Farm 1330-5.
This print is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in a choice of antique birch or flat black frames, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames Designed by Robert Darr Wert”; see images.Made/Created
