A four-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting items from an early American home in outline and silhouette. Items illustrated include a candle mold, a footed cooking pot, a mezzaluna chopper, glass bottles, an American eagle, a cutting board, an iron strap hinge, a butter churn and a coffee pot. The composition is finished with a printed border in brown.
This bordered print is a re-working of a c.1954 print of a different name, Doodles 715-2.
This print is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in a choice of antique birch or flat black frames, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames by Robert Darr Wert”. It was available as a single, pair or triple with “Jugs 916-2” and “Eagle 916-3”; see images.Made/Created
