Description

A Country Prints production sample retained by the company as a print record. An apron with a three-color print on off-white linen depicting materials and tools for turning wheat into bread. Across the lower section of the composition is a line from the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread”. On the patch pocket are lyrics from the Christian hymn “Back of the Loaf” by Maltbie D. Babcock, “Back of the loaf are the wheat and the showers, the sun and the Father’s will”; see web link. A matching towel/wallhanging and tile were also produced; see images. All items were available in red or blue colorways and were sold individually as well as in matched gift sets.
