Print: Farm 1330-5Description
A four-screen/five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting a group of farm structures topped with weathervanes. The central barn is modeled on Pennsylvania “Dutch” stone-ender barns, and the red silo at right is modeled on the silo of Wert’s barn workshop in Gill, MA. Five weathervanes top the structures. Fruiting trees are sculpted into rough topiaries, and a sun, moon and stars imply the transition from day to night. The composition is finished with a printed border.
Though sold separately, Farm 1330-5 was designed to be paired with Village 1330-6; see images.
This print is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in a choice of antique birch or flat black frames, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames Designed by Robert Darr Wert”; see images.Made/Created
