Name/Title

Gift Greeting 330: #8 Hearth

Description

A silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting a partial fireplace opening with kitchen implements and Christmas decorations including red bows, two glass ornaments, a star ornament, a gingerbread man, and a reindeer cookie cutter. This is an example of Wert’s ambitious use of color. This print utilizes seven silkscreens, but achieves three additional colors by overprinting screen colors. See color notes below. This is a Gift Greeting, Country Prints’ line of unmounted prints available in folded cardstock note folders with envelopes for mailing or gift giving. This design was amongst the first eight Gift Greetings produced by Country Prints as described in a c.1955 price list, “330 Gift Greetings — for our first venture into the exciting greeting card field we have 8 of our very own colorful greetings in linen…”
